Depression #16: Tennis

Exercise helps in producing happy hormones called endorphins. It began with me playing badminton with my boyfriend after visiting the psychiatrist. I have always felt shy to play because I think I’m not good enough. I went to play anyway after much coaxing from my boyfriend.

The next thing I mum suggested to play tennis and it’s been 20 years since I last played tennis. I just went to play even though I’m not good at it. My dad’s friend who happens to be a tennis coach stays near where I stay. He saw us playing and couldn’t stand the wrong strokes that I was hitting. He decided that I needed coaching. That was how I started to learn to play tennis.

Now I play at least once a week and I’m loving the game, especially when I get all sweaty!
